Decided to hop on a train and take a trip to the City nearest to Oviedo: Gijón!! It lies on the coast, and is in fact the largest city in Asturias. Full of dogs and old people (must be the sea air! :p), and not the prettiest of places (considering it got flattened in the Civil War and rebuilt afterwards, that's hardly surprising!), but good for a wander round, and it has a beach! Must say we had great fun on the train ride back though: it ran somebody over!! Must say it's better than any of British Rail's excuses...!!! :p
