Ponferrada and Astorga!!!

Still on the AEGEE Trip!!!

After Las Médulas, we stopped off in nearby Ponferrada, famous for its Templar Castle, which we spent a short time outside of, having a seat in the sunshine! :)

Looking out over the Río Sil

Castillo de los Templarios

Pretty little church! :)

Flowers!!! :)

After Ponferrada, it was off to Astorga--the most boring town in Spain!!! If you're looking for a bank or a chocolate shop, then this is the place to come seeing as there are loads of them, and sure, there's the Cathedral (which has a magnificent façade) and Gaudí's Palacio Episcopal, but those take what? Half an hour to see?? If you must go, see them, and then get the hell out of the place!!

Gaudí's Palacio Episcopal--comissioned by Astorga's (Catalan) Archbishop, Joan Baptista Grau i Vallespinós, in 1887, and now home to the Museo de los Caminos (Pilgrim Museum).
